Become a Meeting Ninja
If you know anything about higher ed, you know that we attend A LOT of meetings…so much so that sometimes I don’t have time to do the work generated at these meetings. And so I have been forced to hone in on my meeting ninja skills.
1.Don’t schedule more than 4 meetings per day.
2.Stop scheduling 1 hour meetings. Most meetings don’t need to be more than 30 minutes long.
3. This is probably the hardest tip because we don’t always control the meetings we attend. But if you can try to schedule your meetings in A.M. or P.M. blocks.
Think about it…4 meetings, in 30 minute increments is 2 hours. Have your meetings from 10am to 12pm. Go to lunch. Use the rest of your afternoon to up his game,. You might be asking yourself, what is the power move here? EFFICIENCY. The more efficient you are, the better you do at work.
