Faith in Yourself
I want to keep the Game of Thrones references going. The show is so powerful and has captivated so many, why not.
In last week’s episode Daenerys Targaryn and Jon Snow finally meet. In a tense interaction, she reports to Jon Snow exactly what has kept her fueled for so long. In spite of all the injustices that have befallen her personally, she has persevered. Things that would destroy anyone’s psyche and keep them from moving forward are the same things that have fueled her to persist and fight for her birthright.
Do you know what kept me standing, through all those years in exile? Faith. Not in any god, not in myths and legends. In myself. In Daenerys Tagaryen.
I know that many of you are God-fearing people. I know that many of you have a great and powerful faith in God. This power move isn’t about forsaking that. It is about the power of understanding that you MUST believe in yourself. If you don’t, who will? We can take all of the things that have hurt us and set us back to destroy us OR to fuel us toward greatness.
For example, you know a self-confident person when they walk into the room. They have faith in what they are about to do. They are purpose-driven. The trick to this is that you have to have faith in yourself. I have faith in you and I know those who love you have faith in you too.` It seems so simple. But there is no class. There is no book. There could be some coaching but in the end it comes from within. You got this. #powermovemonday #solutionsnotresolutions
